Missions Sunday 2020
On March 1, 2020, we will have special guest speaker, Dr. Mark Hausfeld at the Abundant Life Alton Campus to share about what God is doing around the world through your missions giving. We will also be taking missions faith pledges for the coming year.
Panama Missions Trip
We send a team of short-term (8 day) missionaries in conjunction with Convoy of Hope’s Food Distribution, to Panama each winter to help feed the indigenous people in the Mountains of Panama. We will also be taking a dental team in February of 2021. The approximate cost is $1,650 per person. Your prayers and financial support are greatly appreciated as thousands of people are fed and reached with the Gospel during this trip. Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated!
Contact Sue Wooden our missions director for more information about how you can be a part of this team: firstname.lastname@example.org. The missions team has been instrumental in purchasing and installing a water pump and filtration system as well as an indoor cooking stove, a generator, and even a computer! This is “making life better!”
Sponsor a Child
Abundant Life is partnering with Latin America Child Care and Missionaries at The Good Shepherd School in Soloy & Duima, Panama. Families within the church have “adopted” the 230 children enrolled at these Christian Elementary Schools.
Your $20 a month is sent to the school to provide 2 meals a day, books, supplies, uniforms, and the salary for the teachers. Some children even carry their baby brothers and sisters to the school so that they can have a meal.
Contact Sue at email@example.com to sponsor a child. You will be provided a picture and information about your child. Each student will need school supplies this year. We are sending a cargo crate to Panama in September filled with school supplies such as: crayons, pencils, notebooks, paper, pencil sharpeners, and folders. Donations of these supplies can be brought to Abundant Life by September 15.
Supporting World Missionaries
Every month we support over 50 different Missionaries and Ministries locally and around the world. Your contributions are used to further the kingdom of God around the world.
The children actively support the BGMC (Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge) to provide water wells, books and school supplies, DVDs, and computers; almost anything that a missionary would need to reach children with the Gospel message. The first Sunday of each month the kids come into the adult service and collect change for BGMC missions.
Speed the Light is the branch of missions that provides vehicles and equipment for the missionaries. The students are given the opportunity to see the bigger picture of how they can impact the world for Christ.
